Strong Analytics, a OneSix Company, is seeking Machine Learning Engineers to help design and develop machine-learning based applications for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500s. As an ML Engineer, you will lead the development and integration of machine learning and AI based software solutions in collaboration with ML Scientists and our clients. Engineers are core contributors at Strong, with responsibilities such as building and managing application pipelines, embedding statistical algorithms in robust software applications, and deploying ML applications to the cloud.

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced R Developer to join our data science team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the R ecosystem and a passion for building tools that enable better data science and enhance analyst productivity.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• You are well-versed in the R ecosystem, particularly tidyverse and related.
• You have spent a lot of time with multiple (messy!) data types and sources, and have experience with general data manipulation and visualization.
• You have successfully built R packages, and have experience with general package development, testing, and deployment, and are well acquainted with using Git in a collaborative way via GitHub/GitLab/BitBucket.
• You probably have also worked extensively with specific tools such as rlang, plumber, pins, renv, as well as other tools like ggplot, Shiny, and tidymodels.
• You have experience with R in production environments such as Posit Cloud, AWS, or similar.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional experience with R programming
• Expert-level proficiency with the tidyverse ecosystem
• You can meet development deadlines and the needs of stakeholders, as indicated by the project roadmap. You can also communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You are also willing to learn more, get acquainted with new tools as needed, and improve your skills with the tools you are already using.
• You also have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and the ability to work with others collaboratively.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with additional programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL)
• Familiarity with other cloud platforms beyond Posit Cloud and AWS
• Develop and maintain R packages for internal use
• Create data manipulation and visualization solutions
• Implement and deploy R-based applications in production environments
