SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated experience leading clinical teams.
  • Experience in managing the complexities of a healthcare business including building relationships with doctors.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills that inspire the trust and strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Very high-level clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and a commitment to, delivery of high-quality radiation therapy services.
  • Very strong understanding of the service delivery models within the private healthcare sector including Medicare billing.
  • Demonstrable capacity to work effectively and positively both independently, and as a member of the Multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated history of, passion for, and willingness to educate and support the development of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, monitor, and report on clinical protocols and adherence.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This rare clinical management role at our brand-new state-of-the-art facility will see you lead from the front, modelling Icon’s core values through effective management and leadership of radiation therapists on site.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership and management of the Radiation Therapy (RT) workforce and service. The successful candidate will be responsible for the RT service’s effective and efficient operation as well provision of technical supervision, education and development, and support for all Radiation Therapists. This role will report to the Site Manager and operate in a full-time capacity, working 76 hours per fortnight over a 9-day fortnight.

THINGS YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Provide effective leadership and management to the Radiation Therapist team.
  • Establish and maintain the highest standards and continually enhance the quality of service and patient experience.
  • Ensure suitable training and support services are effectively provided to the Radiation Therapists.
  • Apply effective resource and workflow management strategies to optimise quality and efficiency and productivity.
  • Exhibit strong decision-making abilities.
  • Maintain good working relationships with internal and external clients, including Icon doctors, referrers, and hospital stakeholders.
  • Support change management initiatives and implement related processes.
  • Ensure the operational and administrative functions that relate to the relevant unit, including staffing and equipment management, are undertaken in an effective, efficient manner.
  • Provide recommendations for service quality improvements to the Site Manager.
  • Participate in national level meetings and working groups as required, acting as the Radiation Therapy spokesperson for the site.
