About the role
- The purpose of this role is to deliver imaging services within the Department of Medical Imaging, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and the Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS). Medical Imaging services includes diagnostic, interventional, emergency care and on call for CT, MRI, Angiography, Ultrasound and Xray including mobile fluoroscopy and mammography.
- This position will be required to participate in an ’on call’ service and/or a shift roster providing seven days per week, 24-hour service coverage.

This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health’s values:

- Perform all approved examinations with compassion, respect, and integrity.
- Deliver a routine imaging service under regular supervision from more senior clinicians.
- Engage in education, training and professional development to progress performing more complex examinations with limited supervision.
- Apply independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making with limited professional guidance of a more senior clinician.
- Provides a patient focused imaging service that is professional and timely.
- Provide clinical supervision, education and written assessments pertaining to routine tasks for students and less experienced staff.
- Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and be able to perform imaging equipment quality assurance and associated documentation.
- Participate, provide input, and lead activities in the development service improvements, procedures and protocols within the Medical Imaging Department and under the guidance of senior clinicians.
- Demonstrate effective communication with patients and staff to better patient care and the service provision.
