COME WORK AS A RADIOLOGIST WITH VANCOUVER COASTAL HEALTH (VCH)!
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a full time Radiologist to practice at Richmond Hospital. Richmond Hospital provides medical imaging for the community, including x-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, screening and diagnostic mammography, and interventional radiology.
The successful applicant will have the following requirements:
1a) Fellowship training in emergency radiology
1b) Fellowship training in abdominal imaging and intervention
2) Be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
3) Full licensure with the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons.
4) Proficiency in the following diagnostic radiology modalities: X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI
5) Proficiency in the following interventional radiology procedures:
All ultrasound and CT guided biopsies and drainages.
PEG, Cholecystostomy and nephrostomy tube insertion
Tunneled drainage catheter insertion (eg Pleurex insertion)
6) Proficiency and experience in prostate MRI
7) Ability to perform in a high volume, multi-modality work environment.
8) Available to start ASAP
9) Physicians with prior work experience in a similar care model and similar hospital will be given preference.
Richmond is located on Lulu Island at the mouth of the Fraser River, and also encompasses adjacent Sea Island and some smaller uninhabited islets to the north and south. Neighbouring communities are Vancouver and Burnaby to the north, New Westminster to the east, and Delta to the south. The Strait of Georgia forms its western border. It is the fourth largest city in BC and encompasses diverse neighbourhoods from historic Steveston to the agricultural land reserves. The population of 218,000 is one of the most ethnically diverse in Canada.
Richmond is the fourth most populous and fast growing municipalities in Metro Vancouver. To meet the growing demand for healthcare services, Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is ensuring we plan for the future. Richmond Hospital is undergoing plans for a campus wide expansion and renewal. As announced on July 2020 by the Premier and Minster of Health, the aims is to build a new acute care tower. Incorporating modernized healthcare design principles, the new facility provide increased inpatient care beds, perioperative services, medical imaging and emergency services to support quality patient care and staff wellness and safety. Detailed planning is currently underway with a project completion target of 2028.
