JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

As the Radiology Assistant II, you will assist the Technologist in the care of patients in a safe and efficient manner. You will assure the highest degree of quality performance and patient care delivered to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients according to their physical needs and limitations. What You Will Do In This Role:

  • You will transport patients to and from the Diagnostic Imaging Department by ambulation, wheelchair or stretcher as directed and dependent upon condition of patient.
  • You will instruct and assist patients concerning proper gown or apparel for radiographic procedures they are to receive, as needed.
  • You will maintain IV tubing and/ or Foley catheter, or other tubing involved, in a safe position during transport.
  • You will maintain confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information to assure patient rights are protected.
  • You will inform the nursing unit and supervisor of any problems encountered, or observed regarding patient during transportation.
  • You will ensure proper infection control techniques are routinely carried out.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • One year of previous patient care experience is preferred.
  • BCLS certification through American Heart Association is required.
  • Ability to transfer and transport patients is required.
