Radiology Clerk, Part-Time

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Radiology Clerk position is responsible for administrative work such as clerical support for scheduling, reception and billing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent required

Preferred:

• Prior clerical experience
• Medical Terminology knowledge

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

• 3 days a week
• 8am - 4:30pm, no weekends

• Answers phones, takes and relays messages in a professional manner.
• Assists doctors and technologists as needed with reports and folders.
• Checks scheduled appointments and ensures patients are given proper instructions.
• Communicates with Doctors, Nurses, and other Medical Staff to ensure exceptional care of all patients.
• Expedites radiology requests to ensure that patients receive their study in an orderly and timely fashion.
• Greets patients in a professional and courteous manner upon their arrival to Radiology.
• Maintain all aspect of patient files in file room and accurate departmental logs.
• Prepares copies of x-rays and/or CD s for pick up according to department procedures.
• Prepares file folder for next day exams.
• Properly documents all exams according to department procedures utilizing IDX and x-ray jackets.
• Rotate through all sub-departments within the Radiology Department.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
