JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Radiology and Chief Medical Officer, The Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA) is responsible for providing competent medical care in accordance with the professional scope of practice and current State of New Hampshire regulatory statutes. As an RPA, you will be expected to perform hospital consults and rounds, take patient history, perform physical examinations, perform radiologic procedures (within the scope of practice) under the supervision of a licensed Radiologist, treatment plan within the scope of practice, and interpret physical, psychological and preventive health data to determine patient’s needs and problems. The RPA collaborates with Radiologists in the promotion and provision of healthcare.

  • Review the patient’s medical record to verify the appropriateness of a specific exam or procedure and report significant findings to the radiologist.
  • Interview the patient to obtain, verify or update medical history.
  • Obtains the appropriate diagnostic studies necessary to evaluate differential diagnosis.
  • Provides the appropriate patient and family education regarding treatment and recommendations for follow-up care.
  • Documents assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care in the patient record.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:

  • Current New Hampshire license as a Physician Assistant with prescriptive privileges (Radiology Practitioner’s Assistant, prescriptive privileges not in our scope)
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Current BLS certification is required, Current ACLS
  • Current Registry R.T.(R) (AART)(CBRPA)
