The Radiology Student provides support help in the Imaging/Film Library and at the Imaging reception areas. Assist Staff Radiologic Technologists in obtaining quality radiographs for interpretation by a physician

Responsibilities:

  • Recognize and document all pertinent information related to patient care.
  • Utilize the RIS and PACS effectively to ensure accurate departmental/system data.
  • Communicate any delays to patients and/or family members.
  • Obtain quality images while following radiation safety standards and patient protocols.
  • Take responsibility for personal performance improvement.
  • Provide guidance and direction to patients for changing into a gown.
  • Assist Radiologists and Staff Technologists in performing fluoroscopically guided procedures.
  • Demonstrate individualized care for each patient.
  • Perform efficient image management to include both hard copy and soft copy images.
  • Provide images to radiologists for interpretation, as well as service to staff physicians, the department of surgery, radiology staff, and to patients requesting their films.
  • Arrive patients, track exams, scan scripts, and schedule exams in Imagecast and Rad Assessment.
  • Assist in the organization and duties of the reception and file room areas.

Student of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved training program. Satisfactory progress in the clinical program is required
