SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experienced WHS Practitioner in Rail/Construction with strong onsite experience.
- Thorough understanding of the relevant Rail Safety legislation and regulatory bodies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and implement safety initiatives and programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement including internal and external parties.
- Confident leadership and team management skills.
- Relevant Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Health and Safety.

Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a robust rail safety management system with CPB’s RIM accreditation and other relevant regulation.
- Develop, implement and maintain rail safety interface plans with key stakeholders.
- Provide technical direction, coaching and guidance to project-based safety professionals and interfacing teams.
- Conduct regular assurance activities to identify potential hazards and risks, and develop mitigation strategies to prevent future occurrences.
- Investigate rail incidents and accidents, conducting thorough root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and oversee the delivery of safety training programs for rail designated workers
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, project and industry stakeholders and emergency service organisations to ensure compliance and maintain industry relationships.
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the management team, fostering a collaborative and proactive safety culture.
