We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell’s High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft.
This position is onsite in Arlington, TX as Bell’s Flight Research Center.
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS A RAPID PROTOTYPING EXPERIMENTAL ENGINEER
Design solutions to follow the Design Requirements Manual, A/F Design Manual, Best Practices, and Bell procedures unless directed otherwise by project requirements
Design air vehicle modifications and associated implementation primarily conducted @ FRC
Schedule creation / integration into engineering/program schedule to drive build activity
Establish aircraft modification sequencing
Influence BOM structure to maximize EBOM / MBOM agreement
Create detail, assembly, and installation airframe / mechanical CAD models and drawings
Create manufacturing engineering plans for details, assemblies, and aircraft installations
Identify and specify requirements for detail, assembly, and installation tools
Liaison responsibility for all designs
Establish MRP demand
Coordinate with other engineering, manufacturing, or specialty personnel to resolve problems
Support development of product changes and improvements
Manage BOM changes from ENOVIA thru CAMS and SAP
Develop budgetary requirements
SKILLS YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE:
Proficiency with ENOVIA and CATIA V6 CAD processesProficiency with GD&T and general part sizingAbility to communicate effectively to coordinate design activities, prioritize tasks, and report statusAbility to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams to complete design and build team tasksCovered workforce collaborative experienceAircraft modification implementation experienceExperience with CATIA 3DXMRP, planning, manufacturing, and procurement processes familiarityProject scheduling experience with MS Project and/or PPMWe are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate.
