POSITION SUMMARY

To supervise the recreation department area of responsibility which consists of Desert adventure activities, Kids club, resort bicycles and Desert nature reserve flora and fauna. To conduct and lead adventure center desert activities such as Nature drive, Nature walk, Star gazing, Fat biking, E-fat biking, Archery, Night desert safari, Lunar expedition, Fishing, Bird watching, Ritz Kids Rangers, Night Walk, Sunset camel caravan and Team building activities. Assist with the ecological work, conservation and to act as the primary link between the guest and the field operations, ensuring that the standards of all equipment, wildlife and facilities used by the team and guests are safe and maintained at the required standards. To be responsible for communication between guests and Guides, and for development and training the Resort Activity Officers with regard to ecology, e-tourism, astronomy, history, conservation, heritage and culture. Daily allocation of duties to activity officers, in line with the Resort’s services and functionality.
Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model and first point of contact of the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to supervisor/manager.
Follow all company policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language, and exchange information with other employees using electronic devices. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and support team to reach common goals. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Manager.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
A Degree, Diploma or recognized training in Ecology, Biological Sciences, Adventure tourism, Field /Tour guiding, Outdoor recreation or relevant area of study
Supervisory Experience:
At least 2 years working experience in a supervisory position relevant to the job requirements.
Experience in a similar resort would be a strong recommendation.
License or Certification:
Valid UAE Manual driver’s license and some experience in First Aid, safety conscious, confident driving off- road manner.
