React Native Software Engineer – Norwich Salary Circa £40,000. London Salary Circa £50,000.
As an experienced React Native Software Engineer, you’ll be joining Mobile at an exciting time. We would love you to be a part of building a brand-new mobile app platform built on market leading technology. We support products that reach out to 17 million customers, and It’s never been more important for us to hire fantastic people into our awesome digital teams who sit at the forefront of delivering Aviva’s Digital strategy.
A bit about the job:
We are looking for a Mobile Software Engineer to join the Mobile Platform Team within our Digital Engineering organisation, working within our scrum teams to build and maintain, change, and further evolve both existing and new products. You’ll sustain our culture of continuous improvement both from a process and a technical perspective.
Aviva operates a “smart working” policy meaning that we spend approximately half of our time working in an office this role is based in, London or Norwich.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Ability to form part of an agile squad to build cross platform mobile applications using React Native.
  • Experience of working within an agile environment; able to support the shaping of requirements, understand the technical detail, provide input into the planning and estimation of features all whilst fostering team spirit and collaboration within your team.
  • Undertaking design and code reviews to ensure our apps meet functional and non-functional requirements and proactively identifying where changes are required to maintain these in the future.
  • Engaging and contributing to the technical capability of our products to ensure they are the best fit for our customers.
  • Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, such as Test-Driven Development, Behaviour Driven Development, Continuous Integration & Industry Standards.

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Norwich Salary Circa £40,000. London Salary Circa £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
  • Bonus opportunity - 8% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
  • Generous pension scheme - Aviva will provide up to 14%, depending on individual contributions.
