REAL ESTATE ACCOUNTANT

at  Boys Girls Club

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong emphasis on construction projects.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

• In-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles, including cost accounting and project budgeting.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and auditing processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively liaise between different departments.
• Familiarity with accounting software and systems used in the construction industry.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to construction and real estate accounting.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple tasks and deadlines

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Normal internal office environment with some travel to Club locations across Puerto Rico. Availability to engage funders on evenings and weekends are a core part of this position. Frequent internal contacts with employees throughout organization required.

LIAISON DUTIES:

• Act as the key point of contact between the Project Manager and the Boys & Girls Clubs finance team, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
• Monitor and report on the financial performance of construction projects, highlighting any areas of concern or opportunity.
