POSITION SUMMARY
The Real Estate Development Manager is responsible for supporting the development process and expansion of all healthcare facilities while integrating a strong analytical approach to project program planning and execution. This role combines project program management with data-driven analysis to ensure that real estate projects are strategically aligned, financially viable, and operationally successful. The position involves managing all aspects of real estate development, from RFP process for developers, initial planning and site selection to construction and facility handover.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the program planning and execution of new healthcare facility developments, including RFP process for developers, managing the critical pathway from interview to selection, develop and track program around site selection, project coordination, and liaising with developers, contractors and stakeholders.
- Track project milestones and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Critical Pathway and overall program management.
- Support the development program planning, design, and execution of real estate development projects of all healthcare facilities. (Medical office buildings, urgent care, free standing Eds, and ambulatory surgery centers and clinics)
- Develop detailed project plans with clear timelines, budgets, and resource allocations, incorporating analytical insights to optimize project outcomes.
- Use data analytics to track project performance and make informed decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track and analyze performance and predictive metrics to determine performance delivery.
- Utilize analytical tools to develop and refine strategies for program delivery optimization in alignment with the organization’s growth plans.
- Ensure all development activities comply with healthcare regulations, building codes, zoning laws, and other relevant standards.
- Analyze regulatory changes and their impact on current and future projects, adjusting plans and strategies as needed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, medical staff, and facility managers, addressing their needs and concerns with analytical support.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations that convey project progress, risks, and data-driven insights to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships based on performance data and analytical evaluations.
- Oversee the transition of completed projects from construction to operational status, ensuring that facilities meet all quality standards and are ready for use.
- Analyze post-project performance data to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement in future projects.
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive factors affecting healthcare real estate.
- Use analytical tools to prepare comprehensive reports and strategic recommendations for senior leadership, highlighting key findings and actionable insights.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Development/Program Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in real estate development, program management, or a related field, with a focus on healthcare facilities and strong analytical skills.
- Strong program management and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, create program models, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proven experience in process & program development, analytical and financial analysis, with proficiency in analytical software and tools.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and vendor management.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on data-driven insights.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel/pivot tables, Tableau BI.
