EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Planning, Architecture, Engineering or Finance/Economics
  • Deep understanding and 5+years of experience in land use planning and development in the Canadian multifamily context
  • Current knowledge of construction costs, timelines, across various multifamily buildforms
  • Experience building multidisciplinary consulting teams and leading land use and permitting initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of development economics, analytical and research skills

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with MS Project, Procore, Blue Beam, AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe platform
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing systems and new technology

NON-TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to prepare, present, and communicate with all levels including Senior Executive
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly and become proficient in a variety of skills and disciplines. Willingness to adapt to change and be flexible in nature
  • Creative problem solver
  • Strong planning and organizational skills coupled with ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to work independently and with other Associates in a team environment
  • Displays a high level of initiative and commitment to excellence
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, enthusiasm and assertiveness strong commitment to providing excellent customer service to fellow Associates and Project Team Partners
  • Travel will be required – routine air travel to various project sites throughout Canada
  • Site Visits to active construction sites, requiring use of specific PPE, ability to navigate sites, and climb stairs
  • Overtime or irregular hours may be required from time to time to ensure project deliveries are met
  • Primary work environment may be in an office setting during regular business hours with travel to sites required on a frequent basis

Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze market conditions to develop and refine our strategy of identifying investment opportunities across our portfolio
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and optimize project investment criteria and metrics and help create investment recommendations
  • Develop project budgets and schedules, and project plans for management consideration
  • Manage process of reviews, applications, entitlements, land use and permitting for selected projects with municipalities and coordinate with external consulting team
  • Create detailed reports on status of projects, and work with team to ensure internal and external reporting is satisfied
