As an underwriter, attention to detail is paramount, as you will be responsible for processing complex information and making critical decisions that impact the financial well-being of our organisation. Additionally, a strong command of the English language is essential, as clear and concise communication is key in this role.
This role will be based out of our Guildford office on a hybrid working basis.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Act as a referral point for junior members of staff
  • Provide appropriate underwriting support on a number of key Real Estate accounts including referrals, document production and bordereau completion
  • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and insurer partners
  • Work closely with the leadership team on improving reporting, processes and procedures
  • Work alongside Real Estate teams on large and complex accounts in considering relevant underwriting responses and solutions
  • Assist in the mentoring and coaching of team members

About you:

  • Strong underwriting experience, preferably with an insurer background from the Real Estate sector
  • Experience in dealing with large and complex risks
  • Holding or working towards one of the Chartered Insurance Institute Qualifications, Cert CII, Dip CII or ACII would be an advantage. Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, with an intermediate knowledge of the commercial insurance industry
  • Excellent organisational and relationship development skills within a team environment
  • Good communication and coaching skills
  • Sound IT skills, including Excel and similar
  • Eligible to work in the UK
