Job Description Summary: What you Need to Know: You will be part of a production engineering team within a new SRE organization focused entirely on merchant experience. This team will add to our platform of world class automation and observability tools to create features that give us greater visibility and faster response to any issue affecting merchant experience. We engineer AI driven reliability platforms that measure, monitor, and protect the experience of PayPal merchants and customers.
Job Description:

Your Way to Impact:

  • Quickly learn and contribute to Java based SRE platforms to add needed features that better support our Merchant Command Center.
  • Have an opinion, have empathy for our customers and your team, have a high say/do ratio.

Your Day to Day:

  • Writing code
  • Connecting with your teammates.
  • DevOps: Support our internal platforms as needed.

What you need to Bring:

  • In addition to well-developed skills in industry standard software development languages (e.g., Java, Node), you should be capable in at least one scripting language (e.g., python).
  • Strong experience with Monitoring applications – Splunk/DataDog, and understanding of Jenkins – CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deep knowledge of GCP services and Dataflow a plus.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of networking principles, internet fundamentals, Operating Systems, and application stacks and should be comfortable using Linux command line.
  • Experience with GitOps/Operation as Code preferred with the knowledge of terraform, artifactory.

Recent Graduate Position Information and Requirements:

  • This is a Recent Graduate Full-Time position.
  • Must have graduated within the past 12 months, or will be graduating by August 2024, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university.

  • Must be able to obtain authorization to work in the U.S.
