As the Reception and Office Administrator, you will play a critical role in supporting the school as the first face that visitors, colleagues, students and other stakeholders see. As such it is essential that you are enthusiastic, positive, calming and have a “can do” attitude. As an ambassador for the school, it is important that you embody the value, vision and ethos of the school. Your primary role will be as the school receptionist, but also where time allows you will provide administrative support to the office and the Headteacher. Your role will include acting as the first point of contact for anyone arriving at the school. Dealing with both telephone and face to face enquiries in a professional and support manner. Other duties will include managing the schools email inbox, responding to messages and assisting students with information and support that they need. When providing administrative support, this would include updating systems including both manual forms and electronic, carrying out filing, printing and photocopying and ensuring records are kept in accordance with the school requirements. Please note that for both roles (Reception and Admin) this is not a comprehensive list of duties and responsibilities – please see the job description for a guide and more detailed list We are looking for a proactive and resourceful member of staff who is warm, kind and highly effective at communicating with young people and adults.
The ideal candidate will be a team player with recent experience of working in a school and ideally have a knowledge of a school or educational establishment. They also will need excellent organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills. Additionally, strong interpersonal skills are a must. At Miltoncross, we are on an exciting journey to become the very best. We have high expectations of ourselves and our students. We provide a strong well-rounded education that has attainment at its heart. We take a warm and strict approach, with strong consistent systems that serve our young people well, and lead to good behaviour in classrooms. These systems are key to this role and will support you as you become excellent at helping young people be successful even when their teacher isn’t present. Miltoncross is a cheerful place to work where everybody pulls in the same direction and works hard to ensure that we give our students the excellent service that they deserve. If you wish to discuss the role or come for a look round, please contact our Business Manager Andi Guinea (businessmanager@miltoncross-tkat.org) who can arrange a meeting and a tour, if required.
