An exciting and varied position has arisen within the Adult Community Mental Health Admin teams in the North Localities in Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust for a Level 3 Customer Service Apprenticeship
If you are organised, a team player, enthusiastic and willing to learn, then we want you to be part of our Admin and Reception teams.
The candidate will support the Admin and Reception Teams by providing effective and efficient administration and reception support to our services.
Our friendly teams are based at Leckhampton Lodge, Charlton Lane, Cheltenham and the extended team work across the community. You will work supporting the Community Adult Mental Health Teams across the North locality including Avon House Tewkesbury providing key reception and administrative support.
There is an expectation you will support the teams cross sites and will also be flexible whilst also being able and willing to travel.
This is a great opportunity to earn, learn and make a difference with a mixture of on the job training and online learning. At the end of the 15 month course you will achieve a nationally recognised qualification in Customer Service.
As per the eligibility criteria for government funded apprenticeship schemes applicants must be aged 16 or over or already be in any form of government funded education.
The successful candidate will join an experienced team and will provide the administration and reception support for the Adult Community Mental Health teams across the North Localities. The successful candidate needs to be conscientious, with the ability to adapt to working under pressure in a fast paced changing environment.
You will need to be able to work as part of a team as well as working on your own initiative. You will be expected to assist in the coordination of all tasks which includes, data inputting, booking appointments for the annual physical health checks, answering and making telephone calls to Service Users. You will need robust computer skills and have the ability to learn new skills and processes such as responding to emails. The nature of this work requires accuracy, sensitivity and confidentiality.
What we expect is good IT skills, GCSE Grade A-C or equivalent in Maths and English, an eagerness to learn new things and flexibility to work in a variety of different teams within the service.
We have in excess of 5000 staff working over 50 sites, providing a diverse range of services. We strive to support an organisational culture that is welcoming, builds and celebrates inclusivity and diversity and provides a sense of belonging and trust.
The annual NHS Staff Survey gives our people the opportunity to tell us about their experience working at the Trust. For the 2023 survey just over 2800 colleagues gave us their views (58.5%). It was great to see from the results that colleagues are saying that:
89.7% believe they are making a positive difference to patients/service users;
73.3% would recommend the organisation as a place to work;
82.4% agree that care of patients and service users is the organisations priority;
76.7% would be happy with the standard of care for a friend or relative
Our results put us as 5th nationally as a Community, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities NHS Employer of Choice and 1st equal amongst all NHS Provider Trusts in the South West. However, we know we have more to do and will continue to drive forward our commitment to making GHC a Great Place to Work.
The apprentice will provide effective and efficient Customer Service support to the Adult Community Mental Health team of Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, whilst completing a Level 3 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship.
