ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

We are looking for a receptionist to join our busy practice team and help make a positive impact on our local community.

You will need the following skills & experience:

  • Previous experience in a GP surgery is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner.
  • Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times.
  • Confidence to work as part of a team and ability to “think on your feet”.
  • Strong IT and administration skills.

Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.

ABOUT US

Dr Krishnan & Partners is a friendly family practice with a patient list of approx. 4,500 patients.

Responsibilities:

Dr Krishnan & Partners in Leigh on Sea has an opportunity for an experienced receptionist/care navigator to join our team on a part-time basis, for 15 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday & Friday, with a mixture of mornings or afternoons, 08.00 to 13.00 or 13.30 to 18.30.
In this essential front-line role at the practice, you will be helping patients to access the right services, assisting with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date, and ensuring that appointment bookings are well-managed.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Making appointments.
  • Taking requests and issuing prescriptions.
  • Booking transport.
  • Arranging home visit request.
  • Dealing with general enquiries and complaints.
  • Registering new patients.
  • Collecting payments from patients.
  • Inputting and extracting information from SystmOne.
  • General housekeeping in the reception areas.
  • Making refreshments for team members.
