ABOUT US

We are a large GP training practice based in Rayleigh town centre with approximately 21,000 patients. We have a large administration team of receptionists, prescription clerks, secretaries and administrators, supporting our patients and clinical team.

Responsibilities:

Audley Mills Surgery has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis, for approximately 24-30 hours per week, however this may be shared between two people. Our shift times cover between 8am & 6.30pm.
There is more to our receptionist role than answering the phone and making appointments. In this essential front line role at the practice, receptionists help patients to access the right services, assist with keeping health records accurate and up to date and ensure that appointment bookings are well managed.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Greeting all patients.
  • Triaging and directing patients to the appropriate service.
  • Answering the telephone and dealing with queries promptly.
  • Making and cancelling appointments.
  • Answering queries and complaints from patients or outside agencies, signposting to the appropriate staff member.
  • Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.
  • Advising patients of practice procedures.
