Description:

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing an exceptional patient experience and supporting the daily operations of our optometry practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a passion for helping others, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a medical office or optometry setting is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems is a plus
  • Experience in customer service is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone and booking appointments
  • Process files and paperwork
  • Process claims such as health insurance or workers compensation
  • Submit MHSC billings
  • Assist health care professionals
  • Send and receive messages
  • Collect payments and follow-up with accounts receivables
  • Follow through on treatment programs with patients
  • Confirm upcoming appointments
  • Recall patients that are due for exams
  • Operate ophthalmic testing and measuring instruments if needed
  • Perform general clerical duties
