OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing an exceptional patient experience and supporting the daily operations of our optometry practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a passion for helping others, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a medical office or optometry setting is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems is a plus
- Experience in customer service is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:
- Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone and booking appointments
- Process files and paperwork
- Process claims such as health insurance or workers compensation
- Submit MHSC billings
- Assist health care professionals
- Send and receive messages
- Collect payments and follow-up with accounts receivables
- Follow through on treatment programs with patients
- Confirm upcoming appointments
- Recall patients that are due for exams
- Operate ophthalmic testing and measuring instruments if needed
- Perform general clerical duties
