Dorset Studio School is a land based school, operating over two sites on the Kingston Maurward College estate and Poundbury.

We are excited to have an opportunity for a receptionist to join our excellent administration team. The role is full time term time only based at our Poundbury site (or hours to be negotiated).
The schools receptionist is a key person, being the first point of call for all visitors. As the ‘face’ of the school, the successful candidate must be personable, helpful and have good communication skills, extending a warm welcome to represent the schools in a professional and friendly manner.
You will need to be organised, able to multitask and work flexibly, remaining calm under pressure and have a ‘can do’ positive approach to work within a very busy and pressured environment. The role will require you to provide an effective administrative support using office packages and in house systems, also to be an appointed first aider.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. Keeping Children Safe in Education
The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern
