Description:

The Award Winning Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa, in the vibrant town of Tralee, currently has an exciting opportunity for a recptionist to join our outstanding team!
Scope of Role: The hotel receptionist is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests during their stay at the hotel.
The main duties and responsibilities of a hotel receptionist include:
To ensure 4 star standards of service are achieved at all times.
To perform in a professional and courteous manner with all customers (internal & external).
To offer an in-depth knowledge of accommodation services and hotel services in general.
To ensure all hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times.
To comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene and Employment.
To report to duty on time, in the correct uniform and to wear a name badge and Ballygarry pin
Greeting and welcoming guests as they arrive at the hotel.
Checking guests in and out, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
Providing information to guests about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions.
Answering phone calls, emails, and other inquiries from guests, and providing them with accurate and helpful information.
Handling guest complaints and resolving any issues or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
To maintain guest privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Taking and confirming reservations and cancellations for rooms, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Processing payments and maintaining accurate guest accounts, including billing and invoicing.
Maintaining an organized front desk area and lobby, ensuring that it is clean and presentable at all times.
Assisting with administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, and photocopying.
Take Restaurant reservations.
Ensure all menus are typed and printed on time.
Upsell rooms and facilities to guests.
Collaborating with other hotel staff, such as housekeeping and maintenance, to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Keeping up to date with hotel policies, procedures, and promotions to provide accurate information to guests.
Adhering to safety and security protocols to ensure the well-being of guests and the hotel.
Deal with cash and lodgements in a trustworthy and competent manner.
Overall, the hotel receptionist plays a crucial role in creating a positive first impression for guests and ensuring their stay is enjoyable and hassle-free. They must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
You must remain totally flexible in your position and may be required to carry out other tasks as directed by management.
