Description:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a full-time receptionist to join the front office team at the Kilkenny River Court Hotel. Candidates must be available to work a combination of early, evening, midweek and weekend shifts.

ABOUT US:

The Kilkenny River Court Hotel is a premier 4-star city centre hotel and is superbly located adjacent to the main shopping areas, theatres, entertainment, tourist attractions, Kilkenny’s Medieval Mile, and Kilkenny Castle.
We are part of the Neville Hotel group, a family-owned Irish Hotel Group with four iconic hotels, with a fifth on the way. Within the group are the 4* Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire County Dublin, the 5* Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort in Wicklow, the 4* Kilkenny River Court Hotel, the 4* Tower Hotel & Leisure Centre in Waterford City, and the new 4* Ravenport Resort in Wexford with is due to open in 2023.

EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with one-years’ previous hotel front office experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Review guest requests prior to arrival and ensure same are communicated to the relevant departments.
  • Greet guests upon arrival and anticipate any assistance that may be required.
  • Answer and direct calls through a switchboard to the agreed standard.
  • Perform check-in, check-out, cash management tasks and account management.
  • Manage online and phone reservations when required.
  • Ensure allocations are complete as per guest requests and yield maximisation.
  • Maximise room occupancy at best rates.
  • Use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities.
  • Action guest requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Promptly action and report all complaints and issues as they arise in an efficient and effective manner, escalating the issue as appropriate.
  • To ensure all security procedures are adhered to with regards to guest’s belongings such as luggage, storage, or deliveries.
  • To ensure all security procedures are adhered to with regards to cash management and safe management.
  • Ensure that all monies are accounted for e.g. floats counted at beginning and end of shift, suitable change, all cash balanced and correct floats are returned.
  • To ensure that accurate profile and billing procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Attend departmental training and meetings as required.
  • Comply with service, uniform, and personal appearance standards.
  • Have a flexible attitude to working days and shifts in accordance with the departmental rota.
