Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Receptionist will be the first professional to greet incoming visitors to the Admissions Office located in the Welcome Center. The Receptionist will assist visitors with basic inquiries, answer questions, direct them to appropriate Morehouse staff as needed. Additionally, the receptionist will provide general administrative support to the Admissions team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Greet all guests, students, prospective students, families, visitors in the Admissions office of the Welcome Center on Morehouse campus
- Manage a multi-line phone, taking messages and directing callers to appropriate Morehouse staff when necessary
- Provide clerical support, general reception, office administrative duties (opening and distributing mail, managing department email account, managing inventories, etc.
- Answer general inquiries, refer students and visitors to appropriate Morehouse staff as applicable.
- Provide limited student application status checks
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent is preferred
- Must be able to type 60wpm on a computer keyboard
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Possess polished and professional demeanor and the ability to work in a high traffic area at all times
- Excellent communication skills to provide exceptional customer service and serve as an information resourceto all visitors
- Experience with switchboard phones and use multiple phone lines for call routing
- Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite (primarily MS Word and MS Excel.), Slate CRM
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Able to multi-task throughout the day and work with a sense of urgency
- Responsive with prompt attention to all inquiries, emails, voice messages, etc.
- Positive and upbeat attitude
- Good listener and able to problem solve situations quickly and professionally
Excellent attendance is required
