Description:

Job Title: Receptionist
Location: Middlesbrough
Hours: Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday – 8.30am-4.30pm with half an hour for lunch
Trust Location: James Cook University Hospital, Marton Road, Middlesbrough, TS4 3BW

YOU’LL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

· Microsoft package knowledge – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

· Provide a high-quality administrative support service and ensure excellent customer care and experience for patients. Provide factual, non-clinical information to patients over the telephone and via written information.
· Greet all patients and visitors attending the outpatient department in a polite, pleasant, and confident manner always.
· Ensure every patient attending or failing to attend the clinic is marked up on the computer system and make sure episodes are closed for those patients who fail to attend unless the clinician requests a further appointment to be made.
· Liaise with the relevant clinic preparation staff if patients arrive for their appointments and notes are still missing and keep the clinic staff and the patient always informed of the status of the notes.
· Register new patient referral letters received and book appointments as necessary.
