Description:

Northern Strands Group of Companies is currently accepting applications for Summer Student Employment for the months of May to August 2025. Our diverse Group of Companies consists of Northern Strands, Fortis Mining, Engineering & Manufacturing, and Certified Sales & Rentals. BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to commence full-time (40 hours/week) work from the beginning of May until the end of August
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well alone or in a team setting
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) is considered an asset
  • Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times
    Note: The Recertification Technician – Summer Student position is deemed a safety-sensitive position and applicant must successfully complete a pre-employment drug & alcohol test as a condition of employment. This position will require work boots that meet the minimum position standards.

Students/applicants must provide a resume and should clearly indicate the following information in their application submission:

  • Area of post-secondary study
  • Any previous related work and/or volunteer experience

Responsibilities:

  • Identify parts or components that should be rejected or recertified
  • Clean components
  • Track part numbers and document recertification
  • Paint new and/or recertified components
  • Receive instructions from Production Manager or assigned designate for each specific recertification job
  • Attend to work area to keep it clean and tidy and to remove any obstacles that could present a hazard
  • Maintain all equipment and tools used in a clean and good working condition
  • Assist in replenishing stock and supplies as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned
