Description:

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You will be able to analyse and report Sales Ledger adjustments
  • Have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
  • Negotiation and Interpersonal Skills
  • You will need to communicate and build relationships with the different banks that DHL International (UK) Ltd hold an account with to achieve task requirements
  • When required, assist and provide support to any project that may impact General Ledger or the finance department.
  • Excellent understanding of T-Accounts and double entry is essential
  • Proactively suggesting process improvements

SKILLS:

  • SAP ERP preferable

EXPERIENCE

2 years in an accounting environment
Minimum requirement of GCSE in Mathematics and English (preferably A or B grade achieved)
3 A Levels (A – C grade achieved).

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adequate financial controls & processes are in place to support the business. This will involve dealing with multiple stakeholders in UK & our SSCs (KL, Maastricht & Ostrava).
  • CRISP (global internal control framework) – submit evidence annually for controls assigned to this role. Ensure improvement plans are in place where there are gaps identified in the controls.
  • Review AR controls (including cash collections, cash application & query resolution), policies & processes, recommending improvements.
  • To produce month end journals for input through the General Ledger ensuring that the integrity of DHL’s financial reporting is maintained.
  • Assist internal and external auditors with any queries in relation to the reconciliations under remit and fulfill any additional ad-hoc audit requirements.
  • Process and keep track of 3rd party customer refunds and rebates
  • Process and keep track of inter-company balance transfers
  • Ensuring all service centres have the correct level of bank deposit cards
  • To liaise with the D&V team, DHL Aviation and HMRC on all of our D&V reconciliations to ensure agreed policies are followed.
  • To respond to queries from the business regarding Concur, vendor POs, invoices and payments, and credit cards.
