Recovery Alberta (RA) is a newly created provincial health agency responsible for providing comprehensive and accessible recovery-oriented mental health and addiction services and correctional health services in Alberta. We are seeking a dynamic trailblazer for the position of Senior Consultant in our People & Culture portfolio. Working alongside the executive lead of People & Culture, you will develop and implement strategic initiatives across the province and liaise with the Ministry of Mental Health & Addiction and Recovery Alberta executive teams. In this crucial role, you lead, coordinate, and support development of Recovery Alberta people strategy and implementation of specific strategies. The ideal candidate possesses advanced skills and experience in project planning, project management and execution. An excellent communicator, you represent Recovery Alberta and collaborate with strategic partners including AHS shared services functions, other public health agencies, mental health and addiction services, and other related external consultants. Additionally, you provide strategic planning and development of supporting documentation and communication materials. The creation of Recovery Alberta, with the support of approximately 10,000 staff, will mean a greater focus and improved visibility for mental health, addiction, and correctional health services. Description:
Reporting to the Lead, People & Culture, the Senior Consultant will be responsible and accountable to develop, execute, monitor and report on project plans. The position liaises with project team members, internal and external stakeholders, and leaders to ensure project coordination and information exchange. This role will collaboratively set priorities, engage with and account for impacts on key stakeholders and partners in the change process. The Senior Consultant presents to leadership groups, steering committees and/or other senior management for program progress and risk management updates. This position provides operational support by working with the Executive Lead for People & Culture on the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for the portfolio. This includes leveraging stakeholder expertise, conducting analysis, and developing next steps and documentation for the executive team and sub-committees. Furthermore, the Senior Consultant manages program level risks and issues by working with project teams to anticipate, identify, document, analyze, communicate, escalate and resolve risks/issues affecting scope, cost, schedule or quality. Using advanced leadership skills, this role will identify challenges and opportunities for the team and provide guidance to support the development of innovative and strategic approaches in ways that enable achievement of operational goals. The Senior Consultant develops strategic partnerships with high level business stakeholders with a province-wide scope, many of which have political sensitivities that must be fully understood and managed effectively. This requires a specialized depth of expertise across diverse disciplines to deliver solutions that address business issues.
