Description:
We have an exciting opportunity within the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, for highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic professionals to join our teams at Hammersmith Hospital as a:
Hammersmith Hospital theatre suite has a total of 8 operating theatres which covers a wide range of specialised surgeries, emergency work and transplant surgery. You will have an opportunity to develop your professional development whilst maintaining your clinical skills.
Hammersmith hospital is world renowned nationally for our specialist surgeries being a tertiary referral and research centre.
We also are a part of the North West London transplant centre specialising in renal and pancreatic transplants.
Recovery comprises of 9 beds covering all the specialities, there are plans to extend and increase the bed capacity and open up two HDU beds. We currently run an extended recovery program for major cases.
To provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients ( Preoperative and Post-operative major and minor cases)
To assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate them without supervision
To assist in leading and monitoring the performance of the nursing team to deliver high quality patient care.
To deputise for the Senior Sister or Charge nurse when required.
To co-ordinate in the clinical area on rotation basis.
To provide teaching and learning environment for the student nurses, trainee
Operating Department Practitioners (ODP), Health Care Assistants (HCA) and junior staff to achieve their learning outcome.
To ensure effective communication with the multidisciplinary team for the continuity and effective patients care.
