Description:

The role of the Recovery Practitioner is to care for patients following surgery, support the Band 6 and 7 in the day to day running of the Post-anaesthetic Recovery room and to deputise in their absence, when the need arises.
We cover both Gynaecology and Obstetrics Theatres- including the Emergency Obstetrics List which runs 24/7. There will also be the opportunity for staff to work in other operating theatres across the Trust once competencies have been met for the post.
The Recovery Practitioner will be expected to recover patients following surgery, and provide a high standard of evidence based clinical care to ensure the comfort and safety of patients.
They will be expected to be a role model for other members of staff and contribute towards the training and development of others. They should be able to recognise their own limitations and seek advice and support from senior members of staff.
The post holder will participate in delivering a high standard of patient care and safety. He/she will be expected to demonstrate enthusiasm to help create a suitable patient and an effective learning environment. This post will demand a commitment to providing flexible shift cover.
