Are you passionate about enhancing the quality of life for seniors? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recreation Therapist to join our warm and welcoming recreation team in Nelson, BC.

As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing both one-on-one and group recreation and leisure programs to clients. You will assess their needs, develop and coordinate therapeutic recreation plans, and evaluate outcomes to ensure their health, functional status, personal development, and quality of life are enhanced. Your responsibilities will include performing detailed assessments, documenting behavioral and functional observations, and developing individualized therapeutic plans in collaboration with other professionals. Additionally, you will monitor clients’ progress, revisit goals, identify accomplishments, and adjust timelines as needed to ensure objectives are met.
Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with Occupational/Rehabilitation staff, other healthcare professionals, and social and recreational agencies to address client program issues. You will also contribute to the overall delivery of Recreation Therapy services and actively participate in quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and educational activities. Your efforts will help create a supportive and effective therapeutic environment for our clients.
