- Demonstrates an awareness of accident and injury prevention and adheres to safe work Is mindful of the psychological health and safety of our Employee Care Partners
- Supports the Resident’s lifestyle in their Community environment in accordance with the Resident’s individualized Care Plan as authorized by Homecare
- Responsible for delegating, coordinating, and evaluating the delivery of recreational services based on the Resident Care Plan & Service Plan
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and coordination of recreation services & programs
- Enforces Emergency Management Plan, Infection Control protocol, WHMIS, and Health & Safety
- Performs other services/tasks/duties related to employee care partner role as assigned
FOUNDATIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE TO GROW FROM:
- As of April 2021 a Degree in Recreation Therapy, Leisure Studies, or Recreation Administration is required; prior to April 2021, ATRA recognized the academic qualifications/experience of Therapeutic Recreation diploma graduates and if ATRA membership has been maintained this is adequate for your application
- Registered with the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) is required
- Experience in recreation programs and providing recreation therapist services is required
- Supervision/leadership/educator/facilitation/resolution/investigation experience is required
- Experience with proven performance in clinical practice is required
- Obtain prior to employment, a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check
