Schedule: Mon-Fri, Day shift

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Recreational Therapist provides a variety of therapeutic social, recreational and diversional events for participants. Conducts individual assessment to identify the participants’ individual interests/needs. Develops and implements an appropriate variety of individual and group activities. Participates in interdisciplinary care planning. Coordinates the recreation documentation for her/his assigned group of participants. Assists with training and supervising assigned volunteers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Upon hire: Washington Recreational Therapist Registration Or
• Upon hire: National Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist - National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification - if practicing within this state

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 years Providing recreation with the elderly or disabled
