Description:

Waste Connections of Canada has an immediate opening for a High-Volume Recruiter to support its full-cycle recruitment for Ontario Canada.
The incumbent will be located at our Region Office and will report to the Recruitment Manager at the Vaughan, ON office.
At the division level, the Recruiter will be working with all local hiring managers to access, evaluate, and strategize on individual hiring needs. The recruiter will liaise with the Recruitment Manager and the Division Vice Presidents on any over recruitment concerns and will provide regular updates. Your success in this role will come from creating strong working relationships with the Region, Division, and District team members and communicating in a timely and effective manner.
The Recruiter will focus on sourcing and screening the candidates for current open positions and building a pipeline of future candidates who embrace our operational values and our corporate culture.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Create a deep and diverse talent pool to service resourcing requirements across multiple Districts.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand business requirements to build a comprehensive strategic hiring plan.
  • Present pre-qualified top candidates to hiring managers.
  • Act as a strategic partner to hiring managers, provide expertise in market insights, talent landscape, and an understanding of talent needs to establish expectations and build collaborative approach with your customers to meet demands.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing regular updates to hiring managers and setting expectations on the hiring process per requisition as required.
  • Monitor recruitment sourcing methods and provide recommendations to improve applicant attraction. Suggests innovative solutions to sourcing challenges.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with passive job seekers and various educational agencies and professional associates to maintain a continuous pool of highly qualified candidates.
  • Offers creative solutions to sourcing hard to fill positions in collaboration with the Districts.
  • You will proactively identify opportunities to drive process improvement and collaborate with the Recruitment Team to drive efficiency.
  • Conduct behavioral interviews with candidates and coach hiring managers on behavioral interviews and other selection methods.
  • Complete all aspects of the hiring process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new hires.
  • Manage the follow-up and documentation of all job openings, applications submitted, and measures necessary for successful recruitment.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and strict confidentiality on matters requiring discretion.
    You will be required to visit our Districts periodically.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4 years or more of high-volume recruiting experience in a professional environment using a candidate tracking system.
  • Experience recruiting in industrial/logistics/transportation hiring is an asset.
  • Experience with Workday or any other ATS is an asset.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and, time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage and build relationships with management and employees at all levels.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to effectively manage multiple demands without missing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to seek out answers to questions and problems.
  • Valid Class G license for travel and access to own vehicle.
  • Ability to travel to different districts/regions will be required.
