Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Recruiting Assistant is responsible for supporting the human resources team during the full cycle hourly recruitment process, aiding with salary recruitment, and assisting with all marketing activity.
EDUCATION
- College diploma/University Degree
- CHRP Designation (would be an asset); or working towards
EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years’ experience in a recruiting role
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and detail orientation when producing data and reports
- Ability to adapt to changing demands of production manpower and team member issues
- Actively listen to fellow team member concerns or issues that arise
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to speak in front of groups of people, and ability to effectively communicate information with varying levels of individuals (both team members and management groups)
- Ability to show versatility and resourcefulness when problem solving
- Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines and importance of tasks
- Manage time efficiently while working on several different tasks at once
Responsibilities:
- Support all internal recruitment activity
- Posting for vacant positions both internally and externally
- Arrange and support leadership with interviews
- Assisting with job offers, and ensuring all necessary associated administrative tasks are completed and new positions are communicated to essential individuals
- Support with co-op program
- Contact academic institutions for job postings at appropriate times throughout the year
- Review resumes for co-op positions and schedule with schools for interview times
- Support Recruiter with follow-up/engagement activities
- Assist Recruiter with salary hiring; phone interviews, first interviews, if needed, second interviews
- Participate in first interview and coordinate assessments with external company
- Support with onboarding activities
- Analyze recruiting data; examine turnover, suitability assessment success rates, and identify trends
- From data, implement kaizens to develop recruiting process; determine what improvements need to be made, and how they will positively affect full-cycle recruitment
- Utilize data to identify trends and carry out improvements to minimize new team member turnover
- Develop and maintain Recruitment KPI’s
- Lead/Assist with special projects associated with Recruitment/HR activities
