JOB SUMMARY

The Faculty of Medicine inspires and enables excellence in health care through its medical education and research programs, and by serving and engaging society. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources in the Faculty of Medicine, the Recruitment Advisor delivers recruitment services to support equity, diversity, inclusiveness and accessibility within the faculty. A strong relationship builder with broad institutional knowledge, the Recruitment Advisor partners with various search chairs and HR colleagues to develop an understanding of hiring needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in human resources or a related field, plus a minimum of three years’ of related human resource administration experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Knowledge of recruitment principles, practices, methods and techniques, and a working knowledge of Principles of Fair Consideration and Employment Equity Policy.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, especially with a broad and diverse group of contacts.
  • High level attention to detail, accuracy and analytical skills.
  • A strong sense of initiative and organizational skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, as well as online applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team as well as being able to balance and manage multiple priorities in a high volume setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the Faculty of Medicine’s subject matter expert on recruitment and advises on all processes related to staff and academic recruitment.
  • Authorize various approvals using PeopleAdmin recruitment system in a timely manner, ensuring all required documentation is attached and closed in a timely manner for accurate metrics reporting. Coordinate competitions, including tracking status, liaising with committees, ensuring that search status is updated in PeopleAdmin.
  • Review and process employment requisitions and monitor status; coordinate approval with financial services and human resources, as required. Prepare job notices for posting on the internal and external media mediums available; ensuring collective agreements are adhered to.
  • Participate in the ongoing review of employment systems and workforce (Census) data. Use this information to educate search committees and hiring leaders on identifying and prioritizing opportunities for diverse candidates.
  • Build and deliver faculty-wide training and development workshops and events on HR practices and policies, with an emphasis on diverse and inclusive practices.
  • Facilitate and support search committee meetings, presenting on key HR policies, such as EDIA in recruitment and Conflicts of Interest.
