POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, the Recruitment Assistant- Canada Summer Jobs is responsible for playing a crucial role in supporting the recruitment processes and ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of activities in the recruitment life-cycle.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the administration required throughout the full cycle internal and external recruitment process for all positions levels both unionized and non-unionized.
- Evaluate and screen candidates and provide a shortlist of suitable candidates.
- Coordinate interviews as needed with the hiring panel.
- Update Applicant Tracking System and other required spreadsheets/databases in a timely manner throughout the recruitment process.
- Participate in hiring events both in-person and virtual.
- Maintain personnel files and recruitment files by uploading and updating the SharePoint Drive.
- Support other functions of the People and Culture department as needed.
- Actively participate in department and agency meetings and events.
- Meet regularly with the Director and other staff to discuss individual, and team and effectiveness.
- Work under the guidance of the agency and program policies and procedures, including the Mission, Vision and Values of Dixon Hall.
Other duties as assigned.
Canada Summer Jobs Requirements
Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or another related program. Relevant work experience (placement opportunities included) in similar environments is an asset.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Dependable, punctual and flexible.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher) and database management.
- Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
- Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
- Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency.
- Must have up-to-date vaccinations against COVID-19 with a vaccine that has been approved for use in Canada.
