Description:

The Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation (TIC) is searching for an eager and enthusiastic professional to join our Human Resources team as a Recruitment Officer on a two-year term basis, with the possibility of extension.
The Recruitment Officer is responsible for the delivery of organized, efficient and effective full-cycle recruitment services, strategies and programs for TIC and its group of companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform full-cycle recruitment activities to include:
  • identifying and gathering information on recruitment needs from various department/divisional managers;
  • development and posting of job advertisements;
  • screening candidates;
  • presenting eligible candidates to management for interview consideration;
  • preparing interview questions;
  • scheduling and leading interviews;
  • conducting reference checks;
  • making hire recommendations;
  • preparing employment contracts;
  • facilitating and leading candidates through applicable employment clearance processes (i.e. medical and/or security screening)
  • creating employee profiles on HRIS and internal network - ensuring all applicable payroll and policy paperwork is completed thoroughly and timely and maintained up to date;
  • assisting with onboarding (office set up, resources, equipment, travel, etc.)
  • sending regrets to unsuccessful interviewees.
  • Provide advice, support and assistance to hiring managers.
  • Be fully dedicated to adhering to the TIC Recruitment Policy – aimed at maximizing Tłı̨chǫ, Northern Indigenous and Northern employment.
  • Be creative and innovative in marketing TIC and it’s group of companies as employers of choice in employment advertisements.
  • Participate in career fairs and other recruitment-specific events.
  • Research and recommend ways to continuously improve the recruitment process;
  • In conjunction with the Manager of Recruitment and Benefits and recruitment team, participating in the implementation of new processes and/or systems as required.
  • Work directly with other department/company managers to identify personnel gaps and develop a plan for filling those gaps.
  • Travel to the four Tłı̨chǫ communities (Behchokǫ̀, Whatì, Gamètì, and Wekweètì) and other communities and worksites as required.

    Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years working in the field of Human Resources, or similar area of business, is ideal, with the primary focus being in recruitment and recruitment administration a strong asset;

  • Minimum grade 12 graduate or equivalent - post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or similar program considered a strong asset.
  • Additional relevant courses/professional development in the Human Resources considered an asset.
  • Ability to speak and/or understand the Tłı̨chǫ language considered an asset.
  • Class 5 driver’s license required.
