RECRUITMENT SPECIALIST

Location: Hybrid, primarily location based in either Granville Office or Abbotsford Hospice
Reporting to: Director, People & Culture
Job status: 1 year Temporary Full-time 1.0 FTE (75 hours bi-weekly)
Compensation: $63,000 - $70,000

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, People & Culture this role in joint collaboration with the Employment Branding & Recruitment Specialist manages the entire recruitment cycle. As part of the People & Culture team they participate in and support all aspects of HR initiatives, processes and policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years’ experience in recruitment
  • Experienced user of Applicant Tracking Systems
  • A minimum of 2 years of broad experience in HR generalist capacities
  • Non-profit and/or health care experience an asset

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Foundation background in core HR functions with an understanding of the importance of a positive recruitment and onboarding experience
  • Working knowledge of Employment Standards Act of B.C., Human Rights Code, Worker Compensation Act, Occupational Health and other relevant employment legislation.
  • Personal values well-aligned with those of CPCH: demonstrated through work or community involvement.
  • Strong problem solver that sees problems as opportunities; can mediate and facilitate effective resolution of issues and conflicts. Able to deal with sensitive situations and confidential information and apply excellent judgment, diplomacy and discretion in all situations.
  • Develops effective and trusting relationships with managers and all staff; is approachable and open to the views of others. Able to work quite independently and model a collaborative work style.
  • Fosters diversity and cultural awareness at work; brings CPCH’s mission and vision to bear through HR practices that result in a respectful and representative work force.
  • Able to anticipate staff and team needs and takes action to meet their expectations. Continually searches for ways to increase their satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to think and work strategically and operationally.
  • Robust planning skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Familiarity with payroll, HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems and other HR related systems.
