The YMCA of Central East Ontario operates out of three major Health, Fitness and Recreation facilities as well as approximately 20 community locations. Our team consists of more than 350 staff members and over 150 volunteers. Reporting to the VP of People & Culture, you are an integral member of the YMCA of Central East Ontario’s HR team.
You will be responsible for supporting the Association’s talent acquisition and employee development strategies. This role involves coordinating recruitment processes and onboarding new hires. Plus, you’ll help employees shine even brighter by organizing training programs that inspire, empower, and build confidence. Responsibilities:

  • Post job vacancies on appropriate job boards, company website, and social media
  • Review recruitment documents and ensure hiring managers are using the correct templates
  • Build relationships with educational institutions, job fairs and other recruitment sources to create a talent pipeline
  • Screen and shortlist salaried candidates based on job requirements
  • Prepare offer letters
  • Participate in onboarding and training of new employees
  • o Drive offer and onboarding processes – policy review, training, uniforms, membership
  • Work with IT to ensure new hires are properly set up and ready to go on day one
  • Collect and upload required certifications and training documents relevant to each position into Dayforce
  • Maintain and update candidate databases and recruitment records
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and Managers to assess the training needs of the organization
  • In consultation with the VP of People & Culture, develop an annual, quarterly and monthly training plan and budget
  • Ensure that training materials are updated and relevant
  • Assist in developing learning modules and other training resources
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and assessments
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and Association policies throughout recruitment and training activities
  • Prepare regular reports on recruitment metrics, training participation, and staff development
  • Maintain a positive candidate and employee experience throughout recruitment, onboarding and training
