To assist the Recycling Centre Manager with the daily operations of the Bundamba Re.Turn It centre.

About the role
We are seeking a values-driven Recycling Centre Manager, who will manage the daily operations of the Bundamba recycling centre; maximising efficiency and providing excellent customer service, while maintaining a safe workplace. Provide a point of connection with the local Community and provide a viable source of recurrent income to support Corps activities.
You will successfully
- Provide supervision and direction for the daily operation of the recycling centre, including rostering aligned with seasonal site needs.
- Management of container storage to align with needs of third party collector.
- Cash handling as per TSA procedures.
- Lead a safe workplace environment, ensuring compliance with all WHS requirements and reporting any incidents.
- Recruit, maintain and direct an excellent employee/volunteer workforce that run the site efficiently (including coordination of Work for the Dole or other similar community or corporate volunteer resource programs)
You will have
- 2 years experience in retail and/or customer service (preferably in a supervisor/manager role)
- Demonstrated experience in cash handling, banking and cash register operations and reconciliations
- Demonstrated experience in WHS compliance.
- 1 year experience in mentoring/training and managing staff or ability to demonstrate capability to undertake
- Proven experience in the recycling/transport industry would be highly desirable
- Self motivated, high level of initiative and strong work ethic
- Sound communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact positively with a variety of people.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Team player, flexible with a positive attitude
- Customer service focused
- Solid level of computer literacy and basic bookkeeping
- People management skills with an emphasis on volunteers and the community.
- Sound presentation and communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact and network positively with a variety of people
This is a permanent, full-time position located in Bundamba, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the General Retail Award Level 6.
