ABOUT US
Eastcott Veterinary Hospital is an RCVS Accredited Multidisciplinary Referral Practice based in Swindon, Wiltshire, just off the M4. Our referral hospital is led by a team of Veterinary Specialists who provide an exceptionally high level of clinical and surgical veterinary care. The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities in all disciplines, and our team offers a warm welcome to referring vets, clients, and patients.
Responsibilities:
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse with extensive clinical experience, you will work as part of the nursing and anaesthesia team alongside the wider clinical team within our multi-disciplinary referral service in order to provide a high standard of anaesthesia and patient care.
You will be responsible for assisting delivery of care to patients with a passion for achieving the best possible service, support and outcomes for patients, customers and colleagues.
This will involve working alongside the anaesthetists, clinicians, RVNS and patient flow coordinator in order to deliver a high standard of anaesthesia care to the patients and assisting with the management of the case load throughout the diagnostic, surgical and recovery areas.
Where case allocation allows, you will also be required to help within other areas of the general nursing duties.
Ongoing training is essential in order to provide the expected level of care for the patients, and alongside their own development the role will also be to support and develop training for RVN’s, PRP’s, SVN’s and technicians in anaesthesia.
Alongside the wider nursing team, you will be responsible for effective stock control and booking of patient’s procedures. Stock control for anaesthesia equipment should be monitored and commutated with the stock management team. Equipment maintenance, with particular attention to anaesthetic machines and monitoring should be maintained and servicing and repairs organised when needed.
The ideal candidate will have experience in either a hospital or referral department (although this is not essential) and be at least 1 year qualified.
