We are currently recruiting for a Refrigeration Technician to join our growing Mechanical team. Reporting to the Mechanical Northern Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be a team player, exemplify our core values, and have a strong commitment to site safety.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willing to relocate to Whitehorse, Yukon.
  • Must possess Interprovincial Refrigeration Journeyperson ticket.
  • Min. 5 years’ experience servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing HVAC, etc.
  • HVAC/Gas fitting experience is preferred.
  • Must possess own tools necessary to complete HVAC diagnosis and repair.
  • Solid understanding of modern construction practices.
  • Understanding of construction documents.
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License and be insurable.
  • Knowledge of construction costs and budgets.
  • A strong safety record and the ability to work with a variety of individuals.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Plumbing, Sheet Metal, or Fuel Oil Technician also an added asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and start up new HVAC systems
  • Assess operating problems in Industrial and dew point applications and determine solutions, through troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for accurate troubleshooting of electrical systems, basic controls, and unit control panels including a basic understanding of PLC and/or microprocessors.
  • Independently perform mechanical inspection using multimeters, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment, and other specialty tools
  • Assemble and install refrigeration or A/C components such as motors, controls gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators, and compressors using hand and power tools.
  • Measure and cut piping and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment
  • Install, troubleshoot, and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems
  • Startup HVAC systems and test for leaks using testing devices.
  • Recharge system with refrigerant. Check and test regulators, calibrate system and perform routine maintenance or servicing
  • Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems.
  • Boiler startups experience an asset.
  • Experience troubleshooting HVAC systems and performing building service/maintenance on the HVAC equipment.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures.
