Job Title: Regional Billing Associate
Exempt/Non-exempt: Non-exempt
Immediate Supervisor: Billing Manager
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong knowledge of finance policies and practices including payable and receivable. Demonstrated ability to use financial programs. Advanced familiarity with the entire Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge in financial statement preparation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable or the equivalent
- Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills. Ability to adapt to changes quickly
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree is required or equivalent work experience; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of two years of working experience as a financial clerk or in another financial professional role.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties listed in the job description satisfactorily. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, or controls; reach with hands and arms. Capable of operating standard office equipment, including a computer and keyboard, calculator, typical business machines such as a fax machine and copier. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to have valid driver’s license, auto insurance and must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle. The work environment characteristics include a noise level which is usually low to moderate.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Primarily responsible for overseeing and managing the billing process for services provided within the designated region. This includes maintaining financial records meticulously, entering accurate information into forms, spreadsheets, and databases and conducting calculations based on previous and upcoming transactions. Additionally, ensure that written communication pertaining to billing matters is clear and concise.
- Submit 906 forms and take action to submit forms in a timely manner and follow up on all necessary actions to ensure timely submittal to DCFS.
- Contact necessary parties to obtain needed information to ensure all forms submitted within appropriate timeframes.
- Make any necessary calculations to compute bills and charges, providing this information to other finance staff; maintaining working knowledge of bills to answer any questions.
- Provide clear and concise training and support to staff involved in billing processes.
- Assists in preparing various financial and statistical reports.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, funding source requirements, and internal policies.
- Guide internal and external stakeholders through transactions carefully and intentionally, making all aspects as clear as possible and understanding of any miscommunications.
- Implement strategies to optimize the revenue cycle, including reducing billing errors and accelerating payment processing.
- Stay informed about changes in billing regulations and communicate updates to the Billing team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Notifies, in a timely manner, the supervisory chain of any incidents or circumstances that need attention. Report all suspicions or allegations of abuse immediately to their supervisor. Ensures appropriate utilization of materials and resources and minimizes waste.
