Description:

The Regional Business Development Manager for Asia Pacific is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to drive growth, improve competitiveness, and achieve long-term business goals for the Asia Pacific region. Works closely with senior management to analyze market trends, identify business opportunities, and develop strategic plans that align with the organization’s vision and objectives. Additionally, leads and oversees the implementation of strategies and key initiatives, monitor progress, and make adjustment as needed to ensure successful outcomes. Position plays an important role in supporting the regional leaders’ Growth Partners activities including organic growth projects, M&A targets identification/qualification, footprint optimization planning, cost & efficiencies initiatives, external stakeholders and customers engagement.

Strategize for Success :

  • Lead in the development of regional strategy and long-range plan for Asia Pacific region including its sub-regions and countries, working closely with TIC, S&A, Science & Operations and functional leaders.

Build Compelling Business Cases :

  • Lead in the development of business plans to support Board of Directors level funding requests for major investments in new facilities and facility expansions within Asia Pacific region.

Spearhead Growth Initiatives :

  • Lead key projects, including market development plans, footprint optimization, profit expansion, inorganic (M&A) target identification, and government partnerships.

Become a Market Expert :

  • Track and interpret industry trends, regulatory landscape, customer needs, and competitive strategies to keep senior leaders informed to achieve business competitiveness.

Act as the Connector Across the Organization :

  • Be in sync with the priorities of the Enterprise, BUs, Segments, COUs, Science & Ops, and functions. Bring cross-COUs opportunities together to better serve our customers.

Forge strategic alliances :

  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to secure sustainable growth in the market for UL Solutions.

Act as the Ambassador of ULS :

  • Represent UL Solutions externally in Asia Pacific at trade and industry events. Advocate for the company’s values, mission and interest by engaging with industry associations

Protect ULS Reputation :

  • Fully comply to UL Solutions’ Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices. Be committed to ULS Ways of Working.

Support Regional VP priorities :

  • Develops and coordinates executive presentations, facilitate meetings and de-briefings. Responds effectively to urgent and sensitive assigned tasks. Performs other duties as directed.
  • 10+ years of experience in B2B business development and market analysis.
  • Proven track record of leading or supporting successful company growth plans.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in business, engineering, or related field.
  • Fluent in English with exceptional written and communication skills. Bilingual with a good command of conversational Chinese is an added advantage,
  • Skilled at communicating and presenting effectively with diverse audiences, including senior management, clients, and team members.
  • A data whiz proficient in MS Office Suite and adept at utilizing market intelligence resources.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, global environment.
  • Able to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • An expert at analyzing customer strategies and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Self-motivated leader with strategic thinking, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
  • Comfortable advising and collaborating with senior executives.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in operating effectively in a MNC and matrix organization structure.
  • Professional understanding of UL Solutions’ TIC and S&A services and solutions.
  • Strong understanding of key global and local market trends; standards, and product regulatory compliance within UL Solutions’ target industries.
  • Deep working understanding of specific industries such as high-tech electronics, energy transition, automotive, sustainability and ESG.
  • Strong grasp of global technology trends in consumer and industrial sectors.
  • Experience in analyzing government industrial policies.
  • A history of successful collaboration with industry associations and key stakeholders.
