Regional Clinical Practice Educator
Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Remote working with frequent travel to hospital sites and corporate offices
The Regional Clinical Practice Educator role is an integral part of the Clinical Education infrastructure within Ramsay Health Care UK. The RCPE role contributes to the delivery of safe, effective, person-centred care through the provision of high quality, multi-professional learning environments. In partnership with the National Lead for Clinical Education, The wider Ramsay Academy Team, Higher Education Institutes, Colleges, Approved Ramsay Education Providers, and support the delivery & assessment of clinical education within RHCUK.
Purpose of the Role:
To deliver training and support across RHCUK in line with clinical education strategy and professional bodies requirements. To participate and support the development and implementation of a range of corporate projects related to clinical education and service improvement. Maintain working relationships with all members of the multi-professional team including nursing, medical staff, allied health professionals, health care scientists and support workers across the organisation. Manage and deliver training to staff on a range of subjects as indicated by their clinical experience and identified learning needs.

What you’ll bring:

  • Registered Clinical Professional Degree educated (or relevant experience) with current registration and significant experience
  • Experience of teaching, assessing and supervising Practice Assessor (previously mentor) qualification or equivalent
  • Clinical Supervision skills & experience of developing and implementing early career induction and preceptorship programmes
  • Group facilitation skills & experience of developing initiatives to develop staff
  • Ability to demonstrate practical clinical skills to groups such as cannulation, catheterization, IV drug administration, Blood Transfusion, Nasogastric Tube Insertion, Wound Care’ ECG (administration), Intra-osseous workshops
  • Acute Illness Management (AIM) Trainer
  • Immediate Life Support (ILS) Provider
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) Provider or work towards this

What you’ll do:

You will work with the Clinical Team within the Ramsay academy to:-

  • Review and develop focused clinical resources to support clinical learning & development
  • Review Induction, Mandatory and Clinical training programmes
  • Review and advise on equipment lists for clinical training
  • Review potential clinical training venues
  • Take the lead and deliver day-to-day training and education at cluster and site level and driving innovation and change
  • Support the People Development strategy, developing staff to provide excellence and efficiency in care
  • Support existing trainers/educators with the reviewing and refreshing of materials to monitor and improve the effectiveness of their sessions
  • Working closely with the hospital senior management teams and training coordinators to organise and provide delivery of training and education within scope of practice for the benefit of patient safety with the aim of ensuring the provision of high-quality safe care
  • Champion and raise awareness of the benefits of effective education to improve patient care and promote best practice through effective induction, assessment and training of nursing staff
  • Deliver teaching sessions within study programmes, including induction, mandatory training and clinical skills training/updates aligned with the corporate clinical education strategy and competency framework
  • Support the development of supervisors/assessors/practice educators within the Units
  • Share good practices across the Ramsay units and externally with regard to supporting learning and improving the quality of care
  • Support the Ramsay Academy with other training and initiatives as appropriate
  • Support with the administration of the Workday LMS.
