Description:
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is one of New Jersey’s largest non-profit social service agencies with programs and facilities serving Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties.
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Regional Coordinator to join our Supportive Visitation Services program located in Union City, NJ.
The Regional Cooordinator provides coordination, oversight, and supervision of Visitation Aides. The Regional Coordinator responsibilities include tracking the receipt of SVS Referrals, maintaining the county specific waitlists, facilitating communication with RDSs about referral/waitlist status. The Regional Coordinator coordinates the Visitation Aides weekly schedules, the weekly visit room schedule, VPM schedule, and tracks administration of any required or optional assessment tools. The Regional Coordinator maintains the fleet by conducting regular safety checks, confirming appropriate car seat inventory, and scheduling any necessary maintenance or repairs. The Regional Coordinator facilitates or co-facilitates onboarding and staff training, as specified, alongside Visitation Program Director (Clinical Supervisor) and supports the Visitation Program Director (Clinical Supervisor) in ensuring Medicaid billing is timely and complete.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Initiates and maintains ongoing communication with families in a culturally sensitive manner utilizing a family’s preferred language taking into consideration a family’s faith and culture.
- Ensures the environment for parent-child contact is safe, non-traumatizing, and promotes healthy attachment. • Initiates and maintains ongoing communication with DCP&P, other providers, and supports.
- Creates an environment that empowers family members, including parents, children, and caregivers to communicate their goals and needs.
- Utilizes various interviewing and/or communication techniques in a culturally competent manner.
- Recognizes non-verbal communication and maintains good eye contact and posture.
- Advocates for parents/families as necessary and supports them in advocating for themselves. Coaching • Operates from a trauma-informed perspective.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling or related field
- 1 year experience with children and families, particularly families involved with the child welfare system and/or affected by trauma, preferred but not required.
OR
- Associate’s degree in related field
- a minimum of 3 years of experience with children and families, particularlyfamilies involved with the child welfare system and/ or affected by trauma preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of trauma and effect on children and families.
- Experience/willingness to work with culturally diverse populations.
