Description:
Overview:
The Regional Custom Spaces Sales Director - West, leads and motivates Market Sales Managers across multiple territories. This role strategically emphasizes building and sustaining highperforming in-home sales teams. Responsibilities include driving accountability, coaching Market Sales Managers, and enhancing the custom space selling experience to achieve sales goals and maximize profitability. Additionally, the director facilitates best practices, cross-market collaboration, and leadership development to foster growth in premium custom spaces. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.
This position can be located anywhere on the West Coast, United States, preferably near a network of TCS Stores.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- College degree preferred
- To excel in this position, candidates must have 7+ years of a proven track record ofdeveloping and executing successful sales strategies, leading high-performing sales teams, and strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate others
- The role demands the ability to manage multiple priorities, proactive problem solve, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in retail sales or custom space multi-unit preferred
- Ability to travel and committed to schedule flexibility based on the business needs
- Knowledge of industry business and passion for following trends in the industry
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
- Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week
- Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge
- Makes strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of our customers and our company, taking care to objectively process information
- Ability to work within and exemplify The Container Store brand which we describe as fun, authentic, and team-focused
- Strong computer skills and experience with software platforms; proficient in design tools, Salesforce, data and analytics reporting

Responsibilities:
- Foster an environment of inspiring communication, leveraging effective messagingand storytelling to align teams with strategic goals and drive organizational success
- Develop and assess short and long-term sales strategies and plans to achieve regionalsales goals, conversion rates, and key business metrics
- Apply business acumen to analyze data and metrics to track performance, identifyopportunities, and refine sales strategies
- Lead initiatives, applying industry trends and insights, to remove obstacles andstreamline processes to enhance operational efficiency and team effectiveness
- Develop and nurture top talent through strategic coaching, mentorship, andprofessional development initiatives to drive sales performance and leadershipgrowth, ensuring effective succession planning
- Lead the strategic evaluation of performance to ensure exceptional customerexperiences are consistently delivered
- Collaborate with store leadership and marketing to identify targeted opportunities,generate new leads, and develop sales strategies and campaign ideas
- Collaborate with finance to establish, review, and manage the Custom Spaces P&L
- Engage actively in industry networking events to establish national and regionalpartnerships to expand brand awareness in custom spaces
- Partner with Installation Services or other Support Center partners to address andresolve customer issues or escalations, while minimizing discount accommodations
- Maintains discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
